April 12: New London Specialty Care Easter Egg Hunt
10 a.m., New London Specialty Care will host its annual Easter Egg hunt. There will be three age groups of children. 0-3, 4-6 and 7-10. Come to the side yard to meet the Easter Bunny and begin the hunt. There will be a coloring contest after the hunt. Call Andrea or Amie at 319-367-5753 for more information.
April 12: Henry County Conservation presents Fungi Foray
1-3 p.m. Have you ever eaten mushrooms straight from the woods? Experienced mushroom hunters will show you ow to tell the difference between poisonous, edible and delicious fungi. After foraging, take home your haul and some recipes as well. This event is outside, so dress accordingly. Preregistration is appreciated. Call 319-986-5067
April 13: Palm Sunday Services
6:30 p.m. Danville Community Palm Sunday Services will be held at First Baptist Church, 302 S Main, in Danville with Pastor Jacob Yocum of Danville Methodist speaking. The community Palm Sunday Service is a joint service involving the 5 area churches- First Baptist, Faith Baptist, Congregational UCC, Danville Methodist and Long Creek United Methodist. An offering will go to the Danville Food Outreach. Everyone is welcome.
April 14: HCC Easter Egg and Nature Hunt
4 p.m. Easter egg hunts are an annual tradition for many families, but the woods and prairies of Oakland Mills are hiding more than just plastic eggs. Hunt for natural treasures such as deer antler sheds, geodes, and snake skins as well as sweet treats. Preregistration is greatly appreciated.
April 14: New London Spring Concert
5:30 p.m. Join the Music department in the High School gym. The Vocal Music department will begin with K-2 grades and continue featuring our talented singers. The Instrumental Music groups will continue the concert in the High School Auditorium.
April 15: Brown Bag Lecture canceled
The April 15 Brown Bag Lecture has been canceled. Plan to attend the April 22 Lecture at noon at the Belle Center.
April 15: Federal Taxes Due
Iowa Taxes are due April 30.
Tiger Food Pantry Hours
Tiger Pantry hours are Thursday 4-6 p.m. and Saturday 9-11 a.m.
