July 11-24: HCC Guided Hike “Weather”
Come learn about weather as you walk along the trails at Oakland Mills Park. Begin at Turtle Town next to the Oakland Mills Nature Center where you will receive further instructions on where to go next. Free! Fun!
July 17: Henry County Conservation – Introduction to Disc Golf
Disc golf is a fun sport that goes far beyond throwing a frisbee. Learn the rules and strategies, then play a few rounds on the Oakland Mills course! Preregistration is not required. If you have discs, please bring them, but we will also provide some for participants. Meet at the Top-of-Hill shelter house.
July 20: Matt and Tiffany Hauptman present a program on Dover Sunday
1:30 p.m. Featured is the personal story of Henry Clay Seymour, the great great grandfather of Tiffany Hauptman. Henry, a native of Danville, kept diaries describing events during the war. His own words are the basis of this presentation. The Dover Museum is located at 213 W. Main St, New London. The Museum is open 1-4 Saturday and Sunday 1-4 p.m.
July 15-21: Henry County Fair
The Henry County Fair at McMillan Park in Mount Pleasant starts this week! Check the schedule for all the events planned. Saturday, July 19 is the popular Free Kids day with face painting, animal balloons, Foam Blaster, Pony Rides and more. The Demolition Derby is Saturday night! Don’t miss one day of the Henry County Fair with a closing KILJ Breakfast by the livestock building on Monday!
July 22: Henry County Conservation Women. Woods. Wine. Fly Tying
6-7 p.m. Dive into the secrets of fly tying and hear about the best fishing spots on the Skunk River. The meeting begins with a social time and wine followed by a discussion and demonstration. Wine will be provided and bring a bottle to share is also great. Ages 21+ only. Preregistration is required
July 26: Henry County Conservation “At the Park = Family Fun Fishing”
9 a.m-12 p.m. Join in crowd at the Oakland Mills Nature Center for the “At the Park” Adventure Family Fun Fishing. Fly fishing and bait will be discussed. Participants over the age of 16 must have a fishing license.

Tiger Pantry hours are Thursday 4-6 p.m. and Saturday 9-11 a.m.
