Aug. 28 — Sept. 1: Celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Midwest Old Settlers & Threshers Reunion!
The first Reunion was held Sept. 20-21, 1950. The records show that 15 Steam Engines and eight Separators were exhibited with an estimated 10,000 people attending the first Reunion. Now 35,000-40,000 attend. Originally held on the fairgrounds, the site now covers 150 acres. See you there!
Aug. 29: First Home Football Game
7 p.m. First home football game against Cardinal. New London Tigers return to 11-man football.
Sept. 1: LABOR DAY
Sept. 2: HCHC Diabetes Education hosts Diabetes Support Group
2-3 p.m. HCHC Diabetes Education is hosting a Diabetes Support Group in Suite 25. Come play “DiaBingo!” Win prizes and increase your knowledge of diabetes self-management terms and goals of care. Please RSVP by Monday, Sept. 1 for this event!
Sept. 4: ISU Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm Field Day
1:30-4 p.m. ISU Field day is free and open to the public. Check in at 2 p.m. Topics include farm update, timber management, cover crop species & mixes and more. The Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm is located at 3115 Louisa-Washington Road near Crawfordsville. From Mount Pleasant, proceed North on Highway 218 to Washington Road, turn East and follow the posted signs.
Sept. 6: Henry County Heritage Trust celebrates Dr. James Van Allen’s Birthday
2 p.m. Visit Van Allen House located on the grounds of the Heritage Trust Museum. Learn about this important Mount Pleasant native and enjoy an afternoon at the museum, 403 W. Madison Street from 1 p.m. — 4 p.m.
Tiger Food Pantry Hours
Tiger Pantry hours are Thursday 4-6 p.m. and Saturday 9-11 a.m.
