JH Sports Finale

Winter middle school sports at New London officially ended on Monday, Feb. 26 at Danville. The seventh grade boys basketball team put up a valiant effort, but were always playing catch-up. They lost 45 to 53. Kellan Porter had 38 points. Reed Lindsey scored five, and Zane Long added two. This season was a good learning experience for these young Tigers.

The eighth grade dominated on both ends of the court as they trounced the Bears, 43 — 16, holding Danville scoreless in the second quarter. They play together well and are fun to watch.

Leading the Tiger attack was Jaece Deterding with 12. Cole Swanson was close behind with 11. Gavin Strawhacker added 10. Dylan Burden had six and Owen Severson and Kinnick Butterbaugh each had two.

It was an exciting season. Congrats to the Tigers and their coaches Blake Nehring and Jess Swanson.
