Korbin James Swenson
Mar. 23, 2023 9:59 am
Korbin James Swenson entered the world on October 6, 2004, the only child of Heidi (Joe Paradysz) and the late Shannon Swenson. His grandparents are Lyle Koss and Ginny and Kim Koss along with Laverne and Grace Swenson.
His nicknames include Korbie J or Korbs. He joined the NLHS Class of 2023 in 7th grade and quickly became a class favorite.
Korbs has been busy since he arrived in New London. He played football for three seasons and was the team manager for basketball and baseball, each for three years. He enjoys being the team manager and loves his Tigers. When he has spare time he likes to watch sports and keep up-to-date on stats. He also works at Hy-Vee.
Korbin was honored with being chosen the 2022 Homecoming King by the HS student body. He is also very proud of being team manager in the summer of 2022 when the baseball team won the Class 1A State Championship. A 60-yard touchdown against WACO his freshman year is his most special memory.
When asked what is special about his class, he said, “Everyone is there for each other.”
He singled out his dad, mom, and stepdad Joe as the people he’d like to recognize. He credits them with encouraging him to stay in school and to be respectful.
Korbin’s advice to the underclassmen is to be smart, stay in school, listen to your teachers, and athletes listen to your coaches.
He is looking forward to graduation, and his plans for next year are to attend SCC and study sports management. He hopes to also be the Blackhawks’ baseball manager.
Tiger Nation wishes Korbin the very best as he leaves NLHS. Go get ‘em Korbs
