A popular precursor to New London’s Holiday Stroll is the Little Shoppers event. This event is always one week ahead of the Stroll. Elementary students come and select gifts for their loved ones. This year, the Southeast Iowa community ensured the success of this project with donations and volunteer help.
The committee wants to give special thanks to the Mount Pleasant Kiwanis Club for their partnership in helping to wrap all the presents! Without the generous gift-wrapping donations and skills, the morning would not have been so successful!
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office gets thanks and big hugs for helping children shop, select their favorite wrapping paper and helping wrap presents! It is wonderful to see the kids’ positive reaction to all your help. Your support helps in so many ways!
Help came from all sources. Thank you, Integrity Builders for your generous donations of gift cards and thank you to Scheels of Coralville for your generous donations of gift cards!
This year’s group of elves gave their time and volunteered in so many ways. Setting up the cafeteria, helping kids shop, wrapping presents and not least cleaning up after the event is so helpful and means so much. Leaving Clark Cafeteria in good shape for Monday’s breakfast ensures the cooks and Director of Foods are happy with the event.
The New London Holiday Stroll Committee is thankful for all donated items and time. Hopefully no organization has or person has been forgotten.
The Holiday Stroll is Dec. 14, 5-8 p.m. There is still plenty to do. Charlie Brown tree decorating still has openings. Don’t forget Gavin’s Memorial Tree. Most of all, make sure the Stroll is on your list and you are ready for a great time.
