Local youth motocross racer, Jackson Blow-Smith, 7, hopped on his first dirt bike at 2 years old, immediately igniting his passion for life on two wheels.
Two years later, when Jackson was 4, his family started taking him around Iowa and Illinois to compete in local motocross (MX) races, eventually landing him in the Iowa Moto Series, where Jackson took second place in his division.
That second place finish proved to Jackson and his family that, with hard work and discipline, a larger, grander stage was in Jackson’s future - The Loretta Lynn Amateur National Race in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.
Loretta Lynn’s, affectionately known as “The Ranch,” is the largest amateur national motocross race in the world, and only accepts the top 42 racers in the nation. Jackson’s sights were set.
For the next two years Jackson stopped at nothing attempting to qualify for the national race, and this last season, his dream came true.
With a second place finishes in both his area and regional qualifiers, and 34-second first place finish in his final regional race, Jackson qualified for the The Ranch.
While his hard work and determination are at the heart of his success, Jackson, and his family, always makes sure to thank their tribe. The Blow-Smith family is eternally grateful for all of the support and encouragement from everyone in New London, the surrounding communities, sponsors, friends, and family.
