1950
- Ronnie Lee and Allan Kellar will go to Hawkeye Boys State camp in Des Moines. Both are sponsored by the American Legion.
- Mrs. Mary Ireton will host P. E. O.
- Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Willits, Karen Sue and Johnny spent the weekend at the home of the parents Mr. and Mrs. Phil Westerbeck.
- The following received letters for sports: Dick Gholson - basketball; Bob Harper - football and basketball; Don Preuss - football; Ronnie Ritchey - football; and Andy Rogers - football.
- The 3rd grade had a wonderful time at the school picnic at Crapo Park.
- This week at the Alamo: “Malaya” starring Spencer Tracy and James Stewart and “Dancing in the Dark” starring William Powell.
- “The Prince of Peace” about the life of Christ will be shown on May 28 & 29. Admission is 50c for adults and 25c for children.
1975
- Graduation is set for Thursday, May 22 at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
- Tim Manard and Joyce Crabill have been chosen to represent New London at Boys and Girls State camp in Des Moines.
- The following recent magistrate cases and fines: Speeding - Herbert E. Phillips - $26; Darrell Blint - $20; Arnold DeJaynes - $10; Nella Elliott - $28; and Mitchell Raines - $28.
- Senior interviews this week: Rhonda Readinger, Joe Peterson, and Dave White.
- An application for a marriage license was requested by Gary Davis and Bonny Butterfield.
2000
- The Class of 2000 chose class colors of black and gold and a class flower of an ivory rose tipped in gold.
- Named as State of Iowa Scholars: Anne Friedrichsen, Erin Lyles, and Brandy Miller.
- New London students graduating from SCC: Pat Allen, Brian Borton, Angela Kempker, Leigh Landes, Brooke Ritchey, and Susan Szewczyk.
- Obituaries this week: Vivian Trueblood and N. Marie Sater.
2015
- Commencement exercises are May 17 at 2 p.m. Speaker is Dr. Nicholas Ford.
- Senior Spotlights this week: Avery Jacobs, Trace Boyles, Ethan Hendrickson, Michaela Specketer, Tristan Kadel, and Kyle Hill.
- Coen Fitzpatrick raised $1001 through Jump Rope for Heart.
