1950
- As of June 15, Dr. James M. Hollen, Winterset, will be associated with Dr. H.E. Tyner in the practice of veterinary medicine.
- The wedding of Miss Delores Dillavou, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Dillavou, New London, and Donald Ruschill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Ruschill, West Point was Sunday, June 4, 1950.
- Bert and Bob Harper left Sunday night for Kansas City, MO to spend several days on business.
- Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Burkhart and girls attended the reception for the newly weds Delores and Donald Ruschill.
- Frank Mehler, who attends the Thomas Jefferson school near St. Louis, MO, has arrived to spend the summer vacation at the home of his mother and brother, Mrs. Margaret Mehler and Bob.
- This week at the Alamo: “12 O’Clock High” starring Gregory Peck and “Prince of Foxes” starring Tyrone Power and Orson Welles.
- Roy W. Wise, superintendent at New London for the past 14 years, has taken the superintendent’s job at Mediapolis.
1975
- Mrs. Cecilia Young, Los Angeles, has been visiting here for the last few days. She visited with nephews Bert, Stanley, Dick, and Jack Harper.
- Mr. and Mrs. James Garland attended the alumni banquet at Winfield. Jim was a 1932 graduate.
- The 8th grade had a party at the London Lanes bowling alley. Brian Carter was chosen as “Best Mixer” by the 8th grade class.
- Citizens of Tomorrow pictured were Kimberly, 12, Jeffrey, 6, Jason, 6 months, and twins Kathryn and Karin, 4. These are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nehring.
- The firemen served about 450 hungry fish eaters at the fire station at their annual fish fry. Servers pictured were Bob Woodall and Sam Blint.
2000
- Obituary this week: Dorothy Beckman.
- Leslie, Kathie, and Frances Loyd attended a graduation party for Lindsay Loyd, daughter of Keith and Susan Loyd of Winfield.
- Ann Davis, a 2000 graduate of NLHS, has signed a letter of intent to play softball at Iowa Wesleyan College.
- Chrissy Shelledy of Norwalk was second runner-up in the Miss Iowa contest. She is the daughter of David and Karen Shelledy and granddaughter of Floyd and Mary Shelledy.
2015
- The New London Friends of Education presented two awards. This year’s recipients were Alma Bennett and Denise Brinkmeyer Bell.
- Bob and Patti Shores will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 5th.
- Ron and Rayma Brown will celebrate 25 years of marriage on June 20th.
- Obituaries this week: Marilyn I. Miller Burr and Mary Lou Wilson.
