- Linda K. Harper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Harper, returned home Sunday from the Burlington hospital where she was a surgical patient.
- Areme officers elected: Pres.-Mrs. Maxine Eichler; V.P.-Mrs. Helen Funk; Sec.-Treas.-Mrs. Mildred Petzinger.
- A group of 32 relatives honored Wm. Collins with a pre-Father’s day basket supper at the James Collins’ home.
- Donald McGohan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McGohan, turned his car over after hitting deep water on Hwy. 34.
- This week at the Alamo: “When Willie Comes Marching Home!” starring Dan Dailey and Corinne Calvet and “Fighting Men of the Plains” starring Randolph Scott.
1975
- Steve Mallams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Mallams, is attending the Co-op Youth Leadership conference this week in Liberty, Mo.
- The Kannegiesser Invitational golf tournament, hosted by former Case employee Gerhard Kannegiesser, started the day at his home on Sunset Drive.
- Mr. and Mrs. Jack James and Jo spent the week in Chicago on business.
- Mr. and Mrs. Dale Blint have sold the laundromat to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Pennebaker.
- Shores Pharmacy has remodeled the front of their store. C’mon up and take a look!
- Donna Ruschill and Gerald Dingman were married in a double ring ceremony on June 6.

- The Chamber of Commerce Hometown Pride Award this week goes Tonya Callas for her property located at 204 S. Ash St.
- Three generations of the Strothman Family are Iowa Snowmobile Family of the Year.

- The New London pool has become a memory as it is leveled and grass is planted.

- New London residents Chad Simmons and Kelly Hunter had their home destroyed by an EF-4 tornado on June 20.
- Erik Martin and Luann Murphy were married May 24 at Geode State Park.
- NL catcher Sam Loyd steps on the plate for a force out on the West Burlington player.
- Morgan Christner threw strike after strike on June 18. Tigers won 18-0.
