•Friends picked a field of corn for William Flam who has been ill.
•Paul Sanders, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. Art Sanders fell 19 feet onto cement. He sustained a concussion and a broken kneecap. He is confined to his bed at home and is improving.
•Everett Hildebrand buys the Paul Iserman residence on North Pine Street.
•50 students in kindergarten for here next fall.
•School Patrol Awards given at end-of-year assembly: Larry Reid, Robert Pennebaker, James Hanson, Scott Elliott, Jim Crabill, and Andy Rogers.
•This week at the Alamo: “This Time for Keeps” starring Esther Williams.

•Glove Factory shuts down due to strike.
•Donna Brinkmeyer will attend Girls’ State.

•For the Class of 2013, the Valedictorian was Shannon Sanderson and the Salutatorian was Baylee Lindell.
•Teacher Ben Bence was the commencement speaker.
•Both the Boys and Girls Golf teams advance to the Class 1A State Golf Tournament.
•8th Grade Recognition is May 31. Reno Chiri, Joseph Carter, Brandon Hanson, Kendall Hempen, Blake Nehring, Shayla Seils, and Grant Lounsbury were a few of the 8th grade students.
•Bob and Cynde Lemley will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on May 27.
•This week’s Hometown Pride winners are Cory and Julie Lindell for their South Pine Street home.
