1950
- Harry Anderson, proprietor of the Mt. Pleasant Cleaners, will open a dry cleaners in New London. The new firm will be known as Spic ‘N’ Spa Cleaners.
- The Northwest Glove Co. will employ 100 workers at the Lincoln Street building,
- Mothers’ Club will meet Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Mildred Burkhart.
- Carol, Bruce, and Daryl Gipple were Labor Day guests of their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ira Owens in Olds.
- For the grade school news in the school paper, the Informer, Sherry Piper and Ruth Ann Kannegieser will be the editors.

- The H. J. Nugen Library has hired Mrs. Lucille Long to take the place of librarian Stella Chichester who is resigning after 26 years.
- The McBeth home on East Main Street was for sale in 1975.

- Gabe Lemley has been selected to fight in the RING’s Millenium professional no holds barred fighting competition in Tokyo, Japan.
- This week’s Chamber of Commerce Hometown Pride award winners are Paul and Patricia Shaw for their home on 618 Poplar Street.
- Running for the school board are Dick Grove, Dr. Kelly Kadel, Mike Westerbeck, and Sid Schmitt.
