•The Memorial Day Service will be held Sunday in the HS auditorium at 11 a.m.
•Carl Totemeier Jr. was honored at the annual Honors Day convocation at Iowa State College for scholastic achievement. He is the son of Carl Totemeier Sr. and an NLHS graduate.
•Mrs. Mary Roberts, mother of Vera McKinnon, has arrived from California for a visit with her daughter and family.

•Dramatic Awards given at the end-of-year awards assembly include Terry Kilbourn, Bob Marshall, Velma Parsons, Carl Dean Harper, Leon Davey, and Harold Miller.

1973
•Mr. and Mrs. Mark Westerbeck moved over the weekend to the Earl Boyer home they have purchased, and the Bill Hoel family has moved into the Elmer Leedham home they recently purchased.
•Sgt. Charles Allen and Mrs. Allen are parents of a son born May 28. He’s been named Jason Charles.
•Williamson’s DX station will be closed on Sundays due to gas shortages, effective June 3.

•The Valedictorian for the Class of 1998 was Rachel Miller and Salutatorian was Stacey Schnicker.
•Obituaries this week: Carl Harper, Arlene Harms, and Gladys Henry.
•Pam and Reggie Williamson celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
•Allison Raub was the University of Northern Iowa Kappa Delta Pi Scholarship recipient.
•Rachel Miller, Robin Lamm, Jamie Strawhacker, and Stephanie Van Syoc qualified for the final in the 4x200m relay.
2013
•The Tiger Boys Golf team finished as Class 1A Runner-up. Members of the team are Tyler Schneider, Hagin Gillis, Tristan Kadel, Jayden Flowers, Kyler Meyer, and Quincy Porter.
•Obituary this week: Miriam C. Heusel.
•NHS Officers for next year are Samantha Anderson, Sarah Holtcamp, Tristan Kadel, and Autumn Blain. Teacher Barb Meyer was the speaker.
•This week’s Hometown Pride winner is Ron and Jessica Boyer for their East Main Street home.
