1950
· The N. U. club will meet with Mrs. Bill McCabe on Nov. 16.
· On Nov. 2, Mrs. Ralph DeSpain entertained in honor of Rita Jolene’s 8th birthday. Those present were Vicky Kramer, Carol Prehm, Sara Burkhart, Dorothy Peterson, Darlene Manges, Frances Ibbotson, Linda and Diane Redfern, Sharon Angstead, Claudia Young, and Annette and Sonja DeSpain, and Mrs. John McClure.
· The New London Women’s club will meet at the New London hall on Nov. 13. Hostesses will be Maxine Eichler and Evaleen DeJaynes.
· On Nov. 14, the Oak Leaf club will meet with Ethel Prottsman. Each member is requested to bring a wrapped toy for the Council Bluffs’ children’s home.
· This week at the Alamo: “Annie Get Your Gun” starring Betty Hutton and Howard Keel and “The Damned Don’t Cry” starring Joan Crawford and David Brian.
1975
· Miss Dorothy Jennings entered Memorial Hospital. She is in room 112.
· VFW & Auxiliary announce the Voice of Democracy annual writing contest by chairman of the project Elvin Dickey.
· Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 23rd.
· The fall sports banquet was on Nov. 4th. Noble Boyd served as Master of Ceremonies.
· The football team of 75 strong presented Coach Lyle Clark with a trophy in appreciation for all the hard work and effort he put forth for the New London football team.
· A son, Brian Charles, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Moon, Mt. Union, on Nov. 8.
2000
· Day care provider, Janice Brissey, is pictured with Kristy Allen, Brody Burns, and Brandi Allen playing in the city park.
· Obituaries this week: William Willis, Effie Bergdahl, and Betty Herrill.
· The 2000-2001 basketball and wrestling schedules have been released.
2015
· The Lions have requested help with food for the needy program.
· Julie Brown joins Two Rivers Bank & Trust as a retail loan officer.
· Luann and Eric Martin announced the birth of their son, Easton James, on Oct. 21st.
· Mr. and Mrs. Dave Stevens will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Dave and Karen Stevens were married in Nov. 15, 1975. They will host an open house.
· Frank Staley tells his “secret” of growing really big radishes.
