1950
· All-conference — 1st Team: Bill Simmons — Center.
· Main Street is nicely decorated. The decoration committee: Chairman-Forrest Burkhart and Arnold DeJaynes, Elmer Watson, Dale Linder; Carl Eichler, Robert Shipley, Ivan Burkhart, and Howard Miller.
· Ralph Eckey, assistant cashier at the Farmers State Bank, was promoted to cashier at a meeting of the Board of Directors on Tuesday afternoon.
· In kindergarten news, this week was spent mostly in preparing to go home. Several students got stars on all their papers. They were Eddie Fitzpatrick, Renna Sharp, Marlys Lee, Neil Lyon, Nancy McNeeley, Dennis Wilson, Cheryl Darbyshire, John Williams, Sharon Ann Lee, Jimmy Phillips, Melvin Broeker, Carol Fisher, Bohlen Thye, Rollin Smith, and John Totemeier.
· Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd McKinnon were Thanksgiving guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McKinnon.
· Mrs. Clara Magers returned home Sunday from the Burlington hospital where she had been a patient.
· This week at the Alamo: “Duchess of Idaho” starring Esther Williams and Van Johnson and “The Happy Years” starring Dean Stockwell and Darryl Hickman.
· Bob Corrick received his “second D” at Drake. (A varsity letter in football at Drake.)
· The school board will build a skating rink on the baseball diamond at the school. The fire department will cooperate by flooding the rink. The city will take care of the lights.
1975
· Tigerettes lost to Central Lee. Janet Wilson was top scorer with 11. Marcia Lorber had 8 and Susan Vaughan had 6.
· Don Bell was reelected to the Board of Directors of the Henry County Industrial Development Cooperation.
· Mrs. Glenn Blint of West Point visited her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Blint and Heather. They attended Earl Smith’s 25-year wedding anniversary.
· Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith spent the weekend in Fremont, Michigan and the Chicago area visiting relatives and friends.
2000
· Obituaries this week: Don Comstock and Joseph Leach.
· Senior Portrait: Bryce Warren Mueller.
· 1st Quarter Honor roll students — Seniors — Andrea Arnold, Steve Blow, Julie Jern, Corrina Schropp, Samantha Wagner, Jessica Wendel, Lisa Parks, and Kristi Hester.

· Obituaries this week: Ronald Dean “Ronnie” Christie, Noble Lewis Boyd, and Kathryn Hull.
· Andy McLerran’s Eagle Court of Honor will take place on Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. in Ramey Hall at the H. J. Nugen Library in New London.
· On Dec. 5, from 6-8 p.m., the New London Holiday Stroll will kick off the 25th Holiday Stroll themed “Home for the Holidays.”
· On Nov. 23, with starting their Monday off with building a snowman during lunch recess, were Noah Crossett, Jayden Bergman, and Killian Kelly.
