1948
•Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Parsons, Ft. Madison, bought the Dairy Bar from Glen Mason and are now in charge.
•This week at the Alamo: “Sitting Pretty” starring Robert Young and “The Tender Years” starring Joe E. Brown.
•Autumn Festival is on September 27-28 at the New London park. There will be a Merry-Go-Round and Ferris Wheel.
•Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Davey left for New York. They will sail on October 5th to go to Iran and complete the excavation started last year on a city that dates back to 5000 B.C.
1973
•The mini-bike rodeo winners, sponsored by the I.O.O.F., were Dwayne Blint, Mark Pence, Kerry Miller, and Scott Strothman.
•Mr. and Mrs. Bob Woodall will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on October 1st.
•Tigers tromp Wolves 12-6. Terry Leitch scored both touchdowns for the Tigers.
•Mr. and Mrs. Rocky Shores are spending a few weeks here from their home in Arkansas.
1998
•Homecoming activities are planned starting October 1st.
•Mr. and Mrs. Bob Woodall will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on October 1st.
•L-M Falcons sneak past NL-D Tigers due to mental mistakes.
•The Fall Fest Committee organization will hold a meeting October 8th at the Dover Museum.
2013
•The following people have taken out papers to run for the City Council. They are Dan Berner, Greg Malott, Frank Staley, Mike Westerbeck, and Laurie McBeth.
•Obituary this week: Kristina M. Price.
•Mr. and Mrs. Bob Woodall will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on October 1st.
•This weeks “Hometown Pride” winner is the home of Kathy Hyde on the corner of North Maple and Lincoln Street.
