1949
Mrs. Gladys Miller is moving this week to the former Charles Hobbie home on east Main St. She bought it through the Justus Piper agency.
Robert Kreidler, 18, and Raymond Brown, 14, appeared in F.W. Walter’s justice court charged with fighting. Kreidler was fined $14 and Brown $5.
Everett Jarvis, former New London player and Oregon State halfback, will coach football at Iowa Wesleyan College for the ’49 season.
Howard and Maynard Miller drove to Rochester where they brought Ralph Miller home. He has been a patient there.
This week at the Alamo: “A Date with Judy” starring Wallace Beery and Elizabeth Taylor and “One Touch of Venus” starring Robert Walker and Ava Gardner.

The new nursing home is taking shape.

The Rebekahs met and installed Wilma Linkin as treasurer and Nel Westerbeck as warden.

Justin Patrick Henecke was born to Jill and Todd Henecke on January 21st. Local grandparents are Susie and Jerry Prottsman and great grandmothers Elsie Miller and Ethel Prottsman.
The Tiger girls basketball team pounded the Danville Bears. Julie Blow led the Tigers with 16 points.
Justin Garvey was selected to play in the all-state Shrine Bowl football game.
