On Monday evening, the New London School Board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Roy Wise. He came to New London in 1934 and has been superintendent for 12 years. He will be missed.
Patrons of the VFW were robbed at gunpoint by three robbers. Both marshals, Ralph Wasson and Frank Burmaster, were across the street at Primary Oil Co. (This is when the VFW was located on the corner of Main and Elm.) The marshals knew nothing about the robbery until they were informed by one of the patrons. The guilty have not been apprehended.
