1949
- On Monday evening, the New London School Board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Roy Wise. He came to New London in 1934 and has been superintendent for 12 years. He will be missed.
- Patrons of the VFW were robbed at gunpoint by three robbers. Both marshals, Ralph Wasson and Frank Burmaster, were across the street at Primary Oil Co. (This is when the VFW was located on the corner of Main and Elm.) The marshals knew nothing about the robbery until they were informed by one of the patrons. The guilty have not been apprehended.
- This week at the Alamo: “That Lady in Ermine” starring Betty Grable and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and “Fighting Father Dunne” starring Pat O’Brien.
- Mrs. Yoma McKinnon left for a month’s visit in Somonauk, Illinois, with relatives.
1974
- Lee Cline purchased the Shell Service Station from Joe Bieri effective February 18.
- Co-op employees are Aven Coberley — manager, Jim Byczek, Jerry Fulk, Ivan Hunter, Don Wiseman, Tony Ludtke, Dave Brown, Marge Isom, Henrietta Sears, and Milo McCabe.
- Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wolfe announce the marriage of their daughter, Kathy, to Tom McClelland on February 16.

- Obituaries this week: Gilbert Morningstar, Hope Craig, and David Bohlen.
- Just delivered: Jaden Elizabeth Blint, Kara Jean Brown, Danielle Nicole Carter, and Mackenzie Paige Hogan.
- Tiger girls defeat Moulten-Udell in Region 8 Championship — on to State!!!
2014
- The Lady Tigers’ basketball season has ended. Notre Dame won the Region-4 semifinal game 103 to 62.
- The Senior Spotlight this week is Debi Rippenkroeger.
- 2013-2014 SEISC South Division Girls’ Basketball All-Conference: 1st team — Samantha Koontz and Morgan Christner; 2nd team — Victoria Noel; and Honorable Mention — Addie Lounsbury and Frankie Johnson.
- Senior Lifestyles featured the article, “Arnie DeJaynes, Inventor/Entrepreneur/Tinkerer.
- Daylight Savings begins March 9.
