Mr. and Mrs. Frank Patterson have received word that their son, PFC Roger Patterson, has been moved from San Diego to South Carolina.
George Elliott and son, G. A., attended the Iowa — Indiana basketball game Saturday evening in Iowa City.
March 1 marked the 38th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Forest McCleary. Their children treated them to a surprise dinner.
This week at the Alamo: “Luxury Liner” starring George Brent and Jane Powell and “The Walls of Jericho” starring Cornel Wilde and Linda Darnell.

Lonely man dies in fall from train. A 41-year old man fell from a Burlington Northern Freight train. Cause of death was a skull fracture.

Pam Ross has registered her flatware in the bridal registry at Runge Jewelry. She will marry Allen Krieger on March 30.
Walter Preuss, Carroll Walz, and Jack Blythe are all in the Burlington Memorial Hospital.

More than 120 people attended the George Washington Cherry Pie Fest at the Dover Museum.
Elsie Miller has returned home from Kensington, Maryland where she visited granddaughter Mindi Smith and her husband Brian.
2014
SEIBA (Southeast Iowa Builders Association) awarded New London schools $2,000 to Industrial Arts instructor Joe Garvey to assist in preparing students for construction jobs.
Corbin and Sarah Brumwell welcomed a new daughter, Harper Alice. Local grandparents are Wayne and Katherine Brumwell and great grandmother Marlene Reid.
