1949
Howard Ritchey’s 1946 Ford Sedan, that was stolen in West Burlington on the Main street, was found in Albia parked on a side street. Although not damaged, it had been driven around 200 miles.
The Rev. Bruce Masselink, pastor of the First Congregational Church will be the commencement speaker. Commencement will be Tuesday evening, May 24, when 23 students will receive diplomas.
Tom Ritchey has been absent from school with the measles.
This week at the Alamo: “The Three Musketeers” starring Lana Turner and Gene Kelly and “Valley of the Giants” starring Claire Trevor.
1974
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Totemeier announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Denise, to Robert Baptista, Jr., Wheaton. IL. The wedding is planned for June 20.
The Town Council issued the following building permits: Mr. and Mrs. Miles Garrels and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Turner.

Clark students Courtney Holtkamp, Antonio Alvarez, Blayne Magdefrausa, and Melissa Weigert helped House Majority Leader Brent Siegrist and Rep. Dave Heaton honor Cynthia Morgan for being named the Iowa Elementary Principal of the Year.

Blake Jeffrey, son of Kim and Jeff Nehring, arrived on May 6.

2014
NLMS students attended the seventh and eighth grade Math Bee. They were Garrick Dodson, Tyler Hencke, Hustin Carter, and Mason Porter. Mason finished in 2nd place and Justin was 13th.
Senior Spotlights this week: Christina Hall, Mikayla Kinzenbaw, Kaaryn Reed, and Chloe Jacobs.
Ashlee Smyth ran the 800 M Run at the NLHS home track meet. She finished 6th with a time of 3:02.21.
