- Carl A. Totemeier, Jr., son of Carl Totemeier, was among students recognized at the 24 the annual Honors Day Convocation at Iowa State College. He is in the top 3% of students at ISC.

- Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McKinnon and Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Krieger left Saturday evening by auto for St. Louis, Missouri Where they will attend a ballgame.
- This week at the Alamo: “Apartment for Peggy” starring Jeanne Crain “Indian Agent” starring Tim Holt.
- The VFW Post announces a July Fourth celebration and float parade.
- Mr. and Mrs. Ed Grinstead, North Pine St., were married sixty-one years. Mr. Grinstead was taken to the hospital and broke a chain of sixty years, in which they were together on their anniversary. They were married May 18, 1888.
- Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dameron and Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Raines, Burlington, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Marshall in Galesburg.

- Colleen Strawhacker received the JAYCEE Scholarship.
- Denise Brinkmeyer and David Bell were married on May 20th.

- The Haven Restaurant has sold to Trent and Connie Hobbs. The family style eatery will continue with its buffet style dining.
- Forty-six seniors received their diplomas after heating Mark Chiri deliver the Commencement speech.
