Dr. Frank R. Mehler, 44, died Tuesday evening at the Burlington Hospital following a cerebral hemorrhage at his summer home in Lowell. He is the third generation of Mehlers who have provided medical care for New London.
LaVon Darbyshire, secretary of Union District #7, in Baltimore township, announced that school will open Monday morning. Bessie Robert, an experienced teacher, will fill the position this year.
Mrs. Blanche Little accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Dale Linder to Indianola where she will visit with her daughter and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Patterson have received from their son Roger, that he will be stationed in Oceanside, CA.

Statues were added to the Veterans Memorial. They were modeled after Jesse Howard and Rachael Gephardt. They are both active with the Army National Guard.
