Mrs. Carrie Elliott received visitors for her 89th birthday. That makes her one of New London’s oldest citizens. She is staying with her daughter, Mrs. Walter Pruess.
Carl Totemeier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Totemeier, is a member of the “Varsity 8” vocal group at Iowa State College.

Claudie Chrisman received a wristwatch for his 25 years of service with the Iowa Telephone Company.
Robert Reed visited this past weekend in the parental home of Mr. and Mrs. Carol Reed.
Mrs. Mike Weigert entertained at a birthday party for the 6th birthday of her son Nicky. Guests included Jeff Henessee, Jeff Childers, Jess Johnson, Joey Johnson, Shelley and Crissy Lee, Lori Peterson, and Terry Bozarth.
Lloyd Timmons, 58, died at his home following a short illness. He leaves his wife Ernestine and daughters Maureen and Marilyn.
Jill Edwards is engaged to Bob Stanton of Des Moines. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Edwards and a 1971 New London High School graduate. A February wedding is being planned.
