1950
- George Elliott, the president of the New London Improvement Co., has called a meeting of the stockholders to be held at the New London hall on Jan. 17. The meeting is to discuss the future of the glove factory building.
- Rev. Paul M. McDade, pastor of the Methodist Church, announced Sunday school at 19 a.m. and the worship service at 11 a.m.
- Phone 18 for the New London Coal and Cement Co. Stan Lite is the proprietor. All though coal is scarce, they have several RR cars on the way.
- Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Church and family spent New Year’s Day in Salem at the home of their aunt Mrs. Max Barton and husband.
- This Journal had some pictures of winter recreation at the Country Club. Some of the New London kids pictured included Ruth Ann Kannegiesser, Judy Wise, Marilyn Wright, and Connie Rapien.
- This week at the Alamo: “Mother Wore Tights” starring Betty Grable and Dan Dailey.
1975
- Chapter EV P.E.O. will meet next week at the home of Nella Elliott.
- Fire Chief Gary Blanck met with the council regarding funds as needed by the department for day-to-day expenses, upkeep, etc., and the purchase of new equipment.
- Tim Manard devoted a column in the Tiger Tribune to the making of the yearbook.
- Leonard Schweitzer attended a Farm Bureau convention in New Orleans, La.
- The New London Jaycee-ettes will have story hour at the library this Saturday and on alternate Saturdays thereafter.
2000
- The Dover Historical Society is planning a Cherry Pie Festival for Feb.
- Obituaries this week: Dianna VerDught, Reuben Frank, Martha Rice, and Louise Reed.
- Citizens of Tomorrow included Kyle and Cole, children of Brad and Debbie Helmerson; Blake, son of Jeff and Kim Nehring; and Blayne, Hanna, Olivia, Addie, and Grant, children of Joe and Koni Lounsbury.
2015
- The Journal features a retrospective of 2014.

- The Journal has the New London Winter Sports Salute. Varsity Boys BB — Jayden Flowers, Quincy Porter, Mitch Boles, Austin McBeth, Ben Dentlinger, Tristan Kadel, Hunter Moeller, Alex Dentlinger, Riley Grogan, Justin Henecke. Koby McBeth, Blake Nehring, Corey Jacobs, Christian Tennant, Tyler Srevenson, Codey Jacobs, and Darin Hill. No coaches were listed.
- Varsity Girls BB — Camryn Blint, Frankie Johnson, Carson McSorley, Emily Parks, Brianna Wolfe, Morgan Christner, Breanna Mettler, Josten Boyer, Kenadi Schulte, Jorgi Krieger, Paetyn Prottsman, and Victoria Noel. They were coached by Joel Prottsman and Duane Blint.
- Wrestlers had a separate salute in a different issue of the paper.
