Arling Farley bought the John Flam acreage and home in the east part of town. Flam has lived there since 1911. Justus Piper handled the sale.
The contract to build the Geode park lake in Henry and Des Moines counties was let by the state conservation commission. James Harlan of the commission said the dam will be completed in time to receive the fall rains.

Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Burkhart and Mrs. Robert Riepe motored to Des Moines to attend the girls’ state basket ball tournament.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Linder and daughter and Mrs. Blanche Little spent the weekend with the Theo Wilson family in Indianola.
A family dinner was held at the McCabe home. Present were Beryl McCabe and Jean and Cora Orndorff.
