New London Class of 1958 reunites
Sep. 4, 2023 2:14 pm
Sixty-five years ago, 23 students from the New London class of 1958 graduated.
Members of the class kicked off a weekend of celebration with dinner on Friday Aug. 25 at Press Box and Grill in Mt. Pleasant.
On Saturday evening Aug. 26, they met at the Dover Museum in New London.
That evening began with a self-guided tour and was followed with dinner served by ladies of the museum.
This was followed by some quiet time to honor the 10 members who have passed on before us but are always with us in our hearts and on the memorial tree.
Next on the agenda were some quizzes about our high school years. This brought on the memories, and tears of laughter. The girls outscored the boys and were presented with $100,000 candy bars while the boys received Dum Dum suckers.
Sunday morning Aug. 27, members of the class met at Mt. Pleasant Hy-Vee for breakfast.
It is heartwarming to see how close knit this class has stayed. It was one last chance to get a hug and say our goodbyes until we meet again.
Classmates and guests totaled 18 coming from Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Virginia, Texas and Oregon.
