New London Grad, Runner, Named for NCAA Honors

Wartburg College Runner Lexi Brown, a New London graduate, has earned individual and team recognition honors from the U.S. Track & Field and cross-country Coaches Association, being named an All-Academic Athlete for the NCAA Division III cross-country Season.
Brown and Fairfield Grad Ashley Bloomquist were both listed for the honor.
According to a news release from Wartburg College, the women’s cross-country team posted a GPA of 3.67 in 2023, making it the 18th straight season the Knights have earned the All-Academic team award (2006-Present). Both Bloomquist and Brown are fifth-year students and will graduate in May.
On the men’s side, Wartburg College runner Lance Sobaski, a Washington Graduate, also earned individual and team recognition from USTFCCCA for All-Academic Athletes for the 2023 NCAA Division III cross-country season. The Wartburg men had a team GPA of 3.33. According to the college, this is the first time the men’s cross-country team has won this award since the 2020 season, and the 16th time in program history.
