On April 12, the New London Specialty Care held its annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny was ready for pictures and the children are divided into 3 groups by age: 0-3, 4-6 and 7-12. The back yard is filled with eggs to hunt. Specialty Care residents spent hours stuffing 3000 plastic eggs with treats.
This year the weather was wonderful. The Easter Bunny kept an eye out for late arrivals. When all the children arrived, EB gave the A-OK. Residents well wrapped to stay warm had been waiting patiently. As the little ones hunted eggs, they were cheered on. After the egg hunt, everyone was invited inside to color a picture. There were many fledgling artists and the entries were hard to judge.
New London Specialty Care is a skilled nursing and long-term care community providing compassionate, individualized care for its residents. An important part of care is providing opportunities for the residents to interact with the community. Easter is just one of the holidays with special events for all to enjoy.
