New London’s Public Library remains a center of activity
During the school year, the Nugen library offers a popular after school program. During the summer, it retains its vision as a center of activity by offering a summer reading program and Wednesday afternoons filled with fun, creative and educational activities for children of all ages. The hours can run a bit longer during the summer and the Wednesday afternoons are 1-4 pm.
Brittney Lerner, assistant librarian, and resident hands on art teacher, Completed an activity “Tiny Creatures” Twenty nine students joined her. Many more stopped in and took home materials to create their own art. On Friday Miss Brittney displayed the creatures in the library’s main room. Students created creatures less than 6” choosing from a wide variety of art materials.
