Southeast Iowa Union offers audio versions of articles using Instaread. Some words may be mispronounced.
Kristen Rohdy is a new teacher at Clark Elementary. She is teaching 5th grade science and IDI (Individualized Designed Instruction).
She is a 2019 New London High School graduate … a particularly favorite class of mine. Kristen attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. After one year, she transferred to Iowa State to finish her degree.
Being a first year teacher can be fairly stressful, but Kristen has had a great experience at New London. She relates, “ My experience has been so great! Everyone has been so helpful and eager to help whenever I have needed it. It has been an easier adjustment for me as it could have been at a different school because I was able to meet almost everyone last year when I was the full-time substitute.”
Kristen is the daughter of Jeremy and Karla Rohdy. She has one sister, Haley, who is a 2021 New London graduate. She makes her home with her fiance, Roberto, also from New London, and their dog Milo.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends and staying active. In her spare time, you can find her walking Milo or at the mall!
Very soon, Kristen will be coaching MS girls basketball with her dad, Jeremy. Go Tigers!
Nothing is better than teaching at one’s alma mater, and we wish Kristen a great productive school year and many wins for the MS girls basketball team.
