Sunday, Oct. 15, Dover will have its last program of the 2023 visiting season. Something a little different is happening. Everyone is invited to be part of the program.

Photos salvaged from the closing of the New London Journal office will be on display. Please come and help identify properties and people. This also will be a good time to share stories from the past. Meet at the museum at 1:30.

New London Performing Arts Tiger Talent Showcase

New London Performing Arts holds their first ever Tiger Talent Showcase Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. in the high school gym! Don’t miss this opportunity for a fun evening

Henry County Public Health offers Flu & COVID shots in New London

4:30 — 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18 in the New London Community Center, Henry County Public Health will be offering flu and COVID shots. Flu shots will be available for $35 unless your insurance covers it. High-dose flu shots are available for those aged 65 and older.

The updated COVID-19 vaccine is available for those older than four years. Unvaccinated individuals are also eligible to receive a single dose of this updated vaccine. You will need your insurance card if you have one. Uninsured and underinsured individuals can still receive the COVID-19 vaccine through a government-funded program.

Take advantage of this opportunity. Vaccines will continue to be given during regular immunization clinics, but require a trip to the Mount Pleasant office.

"Jittering Spooks“ Oct. 20-21

The Theatre Museum of Repertoire Americana, Jimmie Davis Stage, will soon present “Jittering Spooks.”

This play is full of Ghost and Spooks that will keep you on the edge of your seats, featuring wonderful detective from Hogscratch, Missouri, who is sure to solve all the spook problems. It is full of actions and laughs and wonders, and it’s a fun filled show that all ages will enjoy.

New London VFW Post TACO Wednesdays

VFW Post 7641 in New London is serving tacos! Serving is from 5-7 p.m. They have pretty yummy margaritas too. Every Wednesday September through May.
