Southeast Iowa Union offers audio versions of articles using Instaread. Some words may be mispronounced.
On a fall day in October 2007, the 29th to be exact, Nicholas Loyd entered this world, bringing joy to his parents, Darrin and Jaime, and his grandparents, Mike and Laurie McBeth, Ann and Carl Loyd, and Vicki and Dwayne Sullivan. A big sister, Carlie, was also there to dote on him. This boy was loved!
Nicknamed Bubba, Nic joined the Class of 2026 in preschool. His favorite activity was football, and he was good at it. He was 2nd team all-district his sophomore year and 1st team all-district his junior year.
When he’s not at school, you might find Nic playing games or just chillin’ outside.
Nic’s most special school memory is getting two touchdowns his sophomore year. His most embarrassing moment was when he sprayed cleaner on the food in foods class … oops!
Nic can’t decide on just one thing that makes his class stand out, but his advice to the underclassmen is to get the required classes out of the way so you have more open hours.
He would like to single out his parents for recognition. He feels they deserve it after dealing with him for 18 years.
Looking forward to graduation, Nic is still weighing his options for “what’s next” in his life.
Tiger Nation hates to see him leave NLHS, he will be missed! But everyone wishes him the best!
