NL school board holds quick special meeting

The New London School Board met in special session on Sept. 5, 2023 with three directors present: Jesse Howard, Lindsay Porter, and Kyle Helmerson (via phone).

The Board took the following actions on the $700,000 School Infrastructure Sales, Services, and Use Tax Revenue Bonds, Series 2023:

•Adoption of various issuance resolutions as provided by Ahlers & Cooney, bond counsel.

•Approval of form of tax exemption certificate.

•Approved Resolution for issuance providing for and securing payment of the bonds.

In other business, they took the following actions:

•Approved batting cage purchase.

•Approved appointments of the following personnel: Allison Scarff — TLC funded teacher mentor; Luann Martin-Summer At-Risk teacher/$250 stipend; Cheryl Berner — Special Education Associate; Jennifer Lane — Kitchen Manager @ $14.50/hr.; and Patricia Ewing — Kitchen Worker.

•Approved payment of bills.

The meeting was adjourned after approximately 10 minutes. The next regular meeting of the New London School Board will be on Sept. 20, 2023 at 6 p.m. at the North Campus boardroom.
