NL School Board meets in special session

The New London School Board met in special session on Aug. 8. They went directly to the agenda items.

The first item was the parking lot adjoining the new gym area. The construction documents call for an asphalt overlay on the existing parking lot. To align the existing elevation with the grade elevations that would allow water to drain properly, there needs to be a revision to the asphalt in this area.

The Board was presented with two options by Russell who oversees the project. The option they chose was to remove the existing asphalt and put in new full depth asphalt to align the two areas. The cost is $29,660.00 and is covered by the project contingency.

The Board then approved the following:

•Resignations: Dana Blow and Melissa Shaw — Special education associates and Austin McBeth — Assistant HS Baseball coach.

•Appointments: Katelyn Tur and Jalvonn Willis — Special education associates and Josie Bain — full-time custodian.

They approved payment of some bills, and the meeting adjourned at 6:07 p.m.
