NL Schools Ready for the Upcoming Year

The New London school board met on July 11, 2025 in special session with all members present. They accepted the resignation of Sindy Wear, the school business official and board secretary-treasurer. They approved Janae Lemley for the positions of business official and board secretary-treasurer. The meeting adjourned.

The New London school board met again at 5:30 p.m. on July 21, 2025 for a work session dealing with the goals being set for the superintendent. They are as follow:

The work session adjourned at 6:11 p.m. The regular meeting was called to order with all board members present. No one addressed the board in open forum. They approved the agenda and consent agenda as presented.

The board approved three upcoming fund raisers:

Reports were next. The report from the Superintendent: the maintenance and custodial staff are working to get the building ready for the August 25, 2025 start. The gym floors will be resurfaced during dead week. Title II and Title IV funding has been frozen by the Dept. of Ed. These funds, amounting to $23,000, were primarily uses for student mental health services. He will pursue sharing opportunities with other districts to keep these programs on-going.

In personnel matters, the board hired Antonio Bailey as HS Asst. Boys BB coach.
