NL Tiger Trap Team Off to a Strong Start

The New London Tiger Trap Team opened their second season with 28 participants on Feb. 20 with a safety meeting. They started practice on March 5 with new jerseys sponsored by Lair Excavating Trucking.
The kids were anxious to have a meet after practicing for a month and having weather- related cancellations.
The first dual was April 9 against West Burlington/Norte Dame. Results follow:
- Varsity Men’s: Hunter Carver — 3rd /45
- JV Men’s: Kane Forseen — 1st /45
- Intermediate Advanced Men’s: Tyler Sours — 1st/ 47 and Liam Garvey — 3rd / 43.
- Intermediate/Entry Men’s: Parker Pry- 2nd / 38 and Branton Gosney — 3rd / 38.
- Varsity Ladies: Alexa Lair -1st / 42 and Lily Syfert -2nd / 27.
- Intermediate Advanced Ladies: Eden Millard — 1st /29 and Evelyn Adams — 2nd / 28.
On April 13, the Tigers traveled to Ottumwa for the Cardinal/Pekin Tournament. Tyler Sours was first in his division (49/50 with a reverse run of 49). Kane Forseen was second in his division (48/50 with a reverse run of 13). As a squad, Sours, Landon Smyth, Liam Garvey, Tucker Syfert, and Brylor Lair, received 2nd place in Intermediate Advanced shooting 213/250.
After a weather postponement, the dual with Danville was April 17. Tyler Sours shot a straight 50 and Archer Bonnessen shot a straight 25. Other scores included:
Men's Division
- Landon Lair — 2nd in Men's Varsity.
- Archer Bonnessen — 1st and Kane Forseen — 2nd both in Men's JV.
- Tyler Sours — 1st and Liam Garvey — 3rd both in Men's IA.
- Kane Morin — 1st in Men's IE
Ladies’ Division
- Alexa Lair — 1st / Ladies Varsity.
- Maddie Nelson — 2nd / Ladies JV.
- Eden Millard — 1st; Evie Adams — 2nd; Maison Nelson — 3rd all in Ladies IA.
April 19 found the team shooting at Yarmouth for a dual with Mediapolis. Results were as follows:
- Varsity — Alexa Lair / 3rd.
- Intermediate Advanced — Tyler Sours / 2nd.
- Intermediate Entry — Kane Morin / 3rd.
The Mt. Pleasant tournament was at Aim High on April 20. The following medaled:
- JV Ladies — Maddie Nelson /5th.
- IA Ladies — Eden Millard /5th.
- IA Men's- Landon Smyth /5th.
The team had a dual with Danville at Prairie Hunters on April 22. The following medaled:
- Intermediate Entry — Kane Morin / 1st
- Intermediate Advanced: Tucker Larkins /1st; Brylor Lair /2nd; Rhys Nelson / 3rd; and Liam Garvey /5th.
- JV: Kane Forseen / 2nd.
- Varsity: Carter Adams /1st; Alexa Lair / 4th; and Hunter Carver / 5th.
Saturday, April 27, the Tigers hosted their own tournament at Aim High with participation from five schools. New London had one participant receive a leather barrel rest and that was Eden Millard. She received 3rd place in Ladies Intermediate Advanced.
