Picture Book Putt Putt arrives at Nugen Library

The ball simply refuses to roll up this small incline into the hole. I think these girls have given up counting strokes.

Wednesday afternoon, New London youngsters arrived at the Nugen Library to enjoy an afternoon of golf.

Miss Kim and Miss Brittney combed the picture books and selected many favorites of the young readers.

It doesn’t appear that there is a clear path to victory around the monkey. Here goes a firm stroke anyway.

They then used common household items and toys to create miniature golf challenges. Groups of friends shared putters so all could participate.

The walls of the Ramey room were lined with their creations. Weather would not be allowed to interfere with this fun activity.

No library activity would be complete without a creative component.

Students used Legos and craft items to construct a miniature putt putt golf hole of their own.

Miss Kim and the library volunteers were welcome assistants in this project.

It was hard to decide whether to go around the truck or under it to get the ball to drop in the hole behind. It was also difficult to get the ball after it became stuck under the truck. This Mom and daughter are figuring it out.
