Natalie Burden
Robin and Jared Burden welcomed their first child on the 19th of June, 2005. She was later joined by brother Gage, 16, and sister Kinley, 9. Her delighted grandparents who welcomed her home are Kent and Sheila Lamm and Debbie and Merlin Burden.
Natalie is an original member of the Class of 2023. Her high school years were busy. She participated in club volleyball, volleyball, basketball, track, and softball. She was also a member of National Honor Society, student council, and the Homecoming court.
Athletically, she was honored extensively:
•Des Moines Register Top 50 volleyball players - 2022
•First team All-Conference volleyball, All-Union volleyball team, All Hawk Eye volleyball team, and 3rd team All-State volleyball selection - 2022
•All-Conference Basketball Honorable Mention and All-Conference Softball Honorable Mention - 2022
•Second team All-Conference volleyball, All-District volleyball team, All-Union volleyball team, All Hawk Eye volleyball team, and 3rd team All-State volleyball selection - 2021
•State qualifier in volleyball - 2020
When Natalie has some rare down time, she enjoys shopping and going out to eat with her friends.
The eighth grade trip is her most special memory. Her most embarrassing moment was cheering Camryn on as she shot at the wrong basket. Natalie too thought it was their basket.
As her senior year is rapidly winding down, she is looking forward to prom in April.
For her special persons, she chose Sophie Malott, Camryn Lair, Emma Nye, and Elly Manning. They have been there for her and are the first people she runs to.
When asked what makes her class special, Natalie singles out their unity with each other. She also encourages the underclassmen not to wait until senior year to get involved.
Natalie’s future plans include attending Carl Sandburg to play volleyball and major in business and minor in accounting.
Tiger Nation wishes Natalie the best as she leaves NLHS. She will be missed!
