On June 23, 2007, Carleen joined her two older sisters, Kasandra now 28, and Victoria now 23, to complete her family. Her proud mom and dad were Tresa and Juan Zaragoza. Her delighted grandmother, Sandra Lulloff, also welcomed her into the family.
Carleen has been a member of the Class of 2025 since preschool.
She has been busy in high school. She has been on the student council, participated in esports, and been in band throughout high school. She has also participated in choir and speech.
Carleen has received two and three for band solo contest, and made multiple trips to state for esports. She is looking forward to her performances that take her to different places and gives her opportunities to meet new people.
When not busy at school, you can find Carleen reading, drawing, gaming, and spending time with her animals. She also enjoys coding and welding.
Her proudest moments in high school were doing solo contests for band, even though they make her nervous. Her most embarrassing moment was getting the wrong time for when she was supposed to leave for a band event … oops!
When asked what makes her class special, she says, “Most of us have been stuck together since at least elementary, and those that joined us throughout the years were immediately merged into our group.”
Carleen would like to recognize her family and friends because they’ve always been there to help her through this “crazy” life.
Her advice to the underclassmen is “even if you don’t think you have your people at the moment, eventually you will find them.”
Plans for next year include attending Iowa Central Community College for robotics.
Tiger Nation wishes Carleen all the best as she leaves NLHS and knows she will make us proud!
