Senior Spotlight: Coen Fitzpatrick
By Gina Anderson
Apr. 4, 2024 12:00 am
Coen Matthew Fitzpatrick entered this world on July 13, 2006 to John and Mina Fitzpatrick. He joined big brother Kaiden, now 20. His loving grandparents are Mark & Janni Fitzpatrick and Dean & Young Kolkman.
Coen has been a member of the Class of 2024 since kindergarten. He has been a student Council member, a 4-H member, and part of the 2023 Homecoming Court. Added to that, he is a Tiger golfer.
When Coen is not busy at school, one can find him golfing or helping his dad on the farm.
He was a member of the 2022 SEISC championship golf team. His proudest moment was hitting a hole-in-one. Coen remembers his most disappointing moment quite vividly. It seems that his team lost a football recess game on Sept. 19, 2014 at 11:37 a.m.
When asked who his special people are, Coen had several. They include:
- Mom, Mina — Best mom he could ever ask for and more.
- Dad, John — Best dad, teacher, and friend anyone could have.
- Brother, Kaiden — Favorite only sibling.
- Grandma, Janni — The nicest and most caring person in the world. I’m proud to be her “favorite” grandkid.
When Coen was asked about the specialness of his class, he said they have a love-hate relationship. When asked to pass down words of wisdom to the underclassmen, he said, “Don’t take things too seriously and take every opportunity you get.” Answering to the nickname “Guppy,” Coen is looking forward to graduation, with plans to study agricultural at Kirkwood Community College.
As much as Tiger Nation hates to see him go, they know Coen will do great things!!!
