On a bright sunny day, July 14, 2007, Emma Busby entered this world. Her delighted parents are Jessica Busby and Duane Busby. Her grandparents are Debbie and Bruce Rhum, Scott Housman, Shari Phipps, and Buzz and Sharon Busby. She joined siblings Hannah Ortberg, now 21, and Isabella Busby, now 14.
Emma is an original member of the Class of 2025. She is an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society.
Emma has also participated in golf and has been rewarded with several honors. They include: All-Conference — 3 years; 2-time regional golf team champions; 3-time state golf team qualifiers; 3-time conference golf team champions; and state golf runner-up in 2023.
Her most special memory is placing as golf team runner-up in 2023.
It is no surprise that she plays golf in her spare time, and also likes spending time with her friends.
She singled out her parents, Jessica and Duane, as her special persons. She says of them, “I chose them because they are always there for me and support me no matter what.”
When asked about what is special about her class, she points out that there is never a dull moment when they are together. Her advice to the underclassmen is to “make it memorable.”
As the school year winds down, Emma is looking forward to golf season and graduation. Her plans for next year are to attend either SCC or Indian Hills to pursue a degree as a radiology technician.
Tiger Nation wishes Emma the best, but has no doubt that she will be successful in whatever she tackles.
