Feb. 9, 2007 was a red-letter day at the Burden home. Robin and Jared welcomed their only son. He joined big sister Natalie, now 19, and would welcome little sister Kinley, now 11.
As exciting as this new addition was for mom and dad, there were four other people who were also over the moon. They were grandparents Kent and Sheila Lamm and Debbie and Merlin Burden.
Gage joined the Class of 2025 on day one. He proved to be quite an athlete, participating in football, wrestling, and baseball. He is (as of Feb. 15) a four-time state qualifier in wrestling. He was also a member of the 2024 Homecoming court.
When he is not busy at school, Gage likes to fish and lift weights.
Gage’s proudest moment was making it to the state wrestling tournament as a freshman. His most embarrassing moment was when his car broke down in front of the team vans after a volleyball game.
When asked what is special about his class, he points to the fact that so many of them started kindergarten together. His advice to the underclassmen is to the point, “just show up.”
For his special people, he chose his mom and dad. He says of them, “Robin and Jared Burden are the people who shaped me into the person I am.”
His plans for next year are to join an electrician apprenticeship.
Tiger Nation wishes Gage all the good luck as he wrestles for the last time in the Black and Gold. He has been so fun to follow and makes New London proud…go get’em Gage!!!!
