On Nov. 5, 2006, the Miller family had much to be thankful. They welcomed a new member to their family, naming her Paige Amada.
Her mom is Angela Webber and dad is Craig Miller. Her stepmom is Amna Ahktar-Miller and her stepdad is Michael Perry.
Paige’s siblings are Lucy Jordan Miller and Anika Katurah-Miller. Her grandparents include Debbie Markey-Lang and Mark Lang on her dad’s side. On her mom’s side is Amada Webber.
She has been a Tiger since kindergarten. In high school, she has been a member of the student council. She has also participated in individual speech, group speech, the fall plays (3 yrs.), the spring musicals (3 yrs.), band (2 yrs.), and choir (4 yrs.).
Paige went to state speech in both group and individual speech. She received a two rating in solo and small ensemble and lettered in choir.
When she is not busy at school, she is interested in performing arts and fine arts plus psychology and science.
Her most memorable experience was doing the DWI scene last year prior to prom to show the effects of driving drunk. She played the victim in the car accident, staying still for most of it. After that, she read a poem “Car Crash by Tammi Lane. As she recalls the situation, “I remember how the corn syrup stuck to my clothes and hair. Maybe it was a little disturbing to count as a cool moment, but shocking everyone by moving and delivering an important speech was a rare moment.”
Her most disappointing moment was not going to All-State for individual speech last year. But she says it was OK.
When asked to pick her special person or persons in her life, she picked her best friend Elaina Sallee, and her sisters. They have always been her rocks no matter what. She is very thankful for their presence in her life.
She says of her class, “We’re a class filled with many kinds of talents, and yet this class still has so much more amazing room to grow as we enter the adult world. “We will be resilient.”
Paige’s advice to the underclassmen is to have fun. Do that sport, try out for the fall play, and don’t let anything hold you back. It’s OK to be anxious and stressed. As Mr. Bence would say, “Not all stress is bad stress.”
She is very much looking forward to the musical and large group and individual speech for acting and musical theater.
Her plans for next year are to get a tattoo apprenticeship and maybe take up community theater.
Tiger Nation wishes Paige the best and wants her to know she will be missed!
