On a warm September day, the 18th to be exact, in the year 2006, Tate Welcher entered this world. He was the first child of Alison Welcher and Brock Welcher. He was joined by brother Linken, 14, who is currently finishing eighth grade. His other siblings include Brennan Welcher, 28, Serie Welcher, 25, and Kaela Welcher, 21.
He was also welcomed by his grandparents Mary and Bob Hobbs, Kenny Welcher, and Kathy Fox.
Tate has been a member of the Class of 2025 since day one! He has been busy these four years, participating in baseball, football, basketball and golf. His favorite is baseball. He has been recognized for his play on the diamond by being chosen first team all-conference. Tate was the Hawk Eye player of the week, also for baseball. He is, he tells us, the best Clash Royale player in the school.
When Tate is not busy at school, one can find him, weather permitting, playing baseball.
Tate’s proudest accomplishment was winning the state baseball championship with his Tiger teammates. His most embarrassing…throwing his first ever varsity basketball shot into the bottom of the rim.
When asked what’s special about his class, Tate told us, “We all get along semi-well.” His advice to the underclassmen is “C’s get degrees.”
The special people in his life are his mom and dad. Why? There are always there for him.
As his senior year winds down, Tate will have one more baseball season with his teammates. He is really looking forward to that.
Tate plans to go to SCC and “do something.” Whatever that “something” is, Tate will do well.
Tiger Nation wishes Tate the best as he leaves the halls of NLHS. We know he will always be a Tiger at heart!
