Apr. 25, 2024 12:00 am
Taylor Renea Phillips was a summer baby born to Jodi and Mike Phillips on June 27, 2006. She joined big brother Clayton, now 21. Her grandparents included Mike Sr. and Sharon Phillips and Cindy Rauch, John Enderes, and Darin Rauch.
She has been an NL Tiger since kindergarten. During her high school years, she has excelled at golf. She also played volleyball for a year. She likes to play pickleball and, of course, golf, in her spare time.
Coming from a long line of really good golfers, including her dad and her brother, she has played her way into many honors. Taylor has been first team all-conference for three years, first place conference team all three years, and she has placed at state for three years. Taylor is most looking forward to playing golf with her teammates one more time. She will also be looking to have a great senior season.
Her most special memories are on the golf course with her team and seeing everyone improve over the years. Taylor’s most embarrassing moment was choking at State because Sophie Malott jinxed her.
When asked about her class, she says they have a love/hate relationship with each other. Her advice to the underclassmen is that they can procrastinate until the last minute and still make it to graduation.
She singled out her parents for special recognition. They always believe in her and encourage her to always be her best. She also singled out her late Grandpa Mike for always being there for her, teaching her life lessons in the short time he was in her life, and for talking to her every morning while they played cards.
Taylor’s future plans are to attend the University of Dubuque and study sports management and marketing … and of course play golf.
Tiger Nation wishes Taylor the best in her college career and that she have more birdies than bogeys on every hole!
