Special Meeting of Council and Utility Board Hires Two

A special joint meeting of the New London City Council and the Utility Board was held on Nov. 26, 2024. Called to order by Mayor Miller, Jodi Jackson, utility board member, was the only absence. They approved the agenda.
The council with resolution #444 and the utility board with resolution #158 unanimously agreed to remove the city clerk pursuant to city code section 5.09.
The council with resolution #442 and the utility board with resolution #159 unanimously agreed rehiring Kasi Howard as the city clerk/treasurer for the City of New London and the city clerk/treasurer for the New London Municipal Utilities.
The meeting adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
There was a short recess and then a special meeting of the New London City Council was called to order with all members present. They approved the agenda. In new business, the council approved resolution #443 hiring Josh Dean as public works equipment operator at $24.50 an hour.
The council then discussed upcoming projects and finances for the third phase of the residential subdivision, construction of a sidewalk along Pine St., and paving W. Adams St.
