Volleyball
The Tigers traveled to Mediapolis on Oct. 3 to take on the Bulldogs. The Mediapolis team won 3-1, but the Tigers got a much needed victory. The scores were 25-22, 25-14, 24-26, and 25-20. No individual stats were provided.
Football
The Tigers traveled to Wayland to take on the WACO Warriors on Oct. 4. On WACO’s Senior Night, the Tigers gave the Warriors pause as they had the score tied 14 -14 in the first quarter. But at the half, the score had ballooned on the Tigers to 40-14.
Both sides hurt their cause with many miscues each team made. There were penalties and fumbles galore on both teams.
The Tigers brought the score to 60-42 after London Franklin scored from the three yard line. But an apparent touchdown from Gavin Menke-Bailey to Owen Severson was called back and the next play saw an interception, and the Warriors had secured the victory.
Menke-Bailey had 231 yards passing with two interceptions. Carter Adams had a one-yard fumble recovery for a Tiger TD.
Coach Darrin Loyd was happy with the majority of the Tigers’ play. He felt penalties really hurt their chances, but he was pleased with their effort.
