Every Wednesday school is dismissed early. While teachers meet for professional development, the H.J. Nugen Library fills with students eager to fill their afternoon with more learning and fun.
Jan. 15, Ramey Hall contained students building structures with Popsicle and craft sticks. The competitions included “tallest structure,” “most creative” and “bridge building.” Upstairs, students played games, worked on projects and read. A small group of Shrek actors were concentrating on learning their lines. March 7-8 is just around the corner.
New London’s public library truly fits the definition of the modern library. It is a “dynamic, welcoming community hub.” If you haven’t visited lately these cold wintry days are a good time to explore the library.
