Sweetheart Bingo begins a new year of fundraising for Holiday Stroll
Volunteers of the Holiday Stroll Committee opened the Community Center on the Sunday after Valentine’s Day for Sweetheart Bingo. This popular event is the first in a series of events to raise money for the Holiday Stroll. Everyone is ready for fun and the chance to visit with members of the community after the winter season has begun to moderate.
As the crowd gathered, bingo cards were sold and bottle caps for markers were issued. The mood was festive as everyone looked at the table of prizes ranging from gift cards to gaily decorated baskets. Drinks and snacks were available for purchase as the afternoon progressed.
All proceeds from this event go to the Holiday Stroll for New London’s annual Christmas celebration on the second Saturday in December. Chelsea Boecker, Chairman, reported that The Bingo event raised enough money to sponsor at least two of the vendors who provide services to the community during the Stroll. She sends a big thank you the sponsors for “Rocking the Community Together!” Another big thank you goes to all the volunteers whose time and help make sure the Stroll remains a New London tradition.
