For the first time, the New London Tigers ran at a cross-country meet as a non-shared program. There were several teams on September 5 at Wildwood Park in Ottumwa. The NL high school team has five members: Natan Bergman, Zayden Lawrence, Elijah Ingwersen, Jayden Wagner, and Irelyn Kelly. The JH team includes Bentley Wright, Linken Welcher, Job Reighard, Zane Long, Gracie Dilks, and Lillian Francy.
According to Coach Swailes, it was the first meet. “The JH boys got second as a team to Fairfield. They actually tied, but didn’t have a 5th runner for the tie-breaker rule.”
She continued, “The HS runners are all freshmen so this was their first 5K race. Several of the JH kids were also participating in their first meet.”

· Bergman - 21:51 - 45th
· Lawrence - 21:53 - 46th
· Ingwersen - 27:36 - 99th
· Wagner - 34:18 - 108th
